There are still a few booths available for the Estevan Showcase Business Expo, according to Estevan Chamber of Commerce events and marketing manager Rebecca Westling.
This year's Showcase will be from September 26 to 28 at Affinity Place and the Icon Centre. Westling said eight of the 91 slots are still available at Affinity Place.
“There is always the potential to add more,” said Westling. “I know … that two years ago we added some booths in the (Leisure Centre's) hallway. We usually don't turn away any booths.”
As for the Icon Centre, it is half sold, and they still have 6,000 square feet remaining. They could accommodate two displays that occupy 3,000 square feet, or six that require 1,000 square feet, or a combination of the two.
“I'm working on larger companies that have trailers or vehicles or hot tubs or that type of thing, to come to the show to showcase their products,” said Westling.
Westling said the variety of exhibitors is as strong as other years. They boast realtors, jewelry companies, home products, toys and other children's products, food vendors, non-profit organizations and more.
This year also boasts their strongest contingent of local exhibitors in years, Westling said, and she views that as an encouraging sign.
“Local exhibitors do see the benefits of Showcase, and see that people do come to the show to see what Estevan has to offer from the business community,” said Westling.
Showcase will be open at 4 p.m. on the 26th, and 10 a.m. on the 27th and the 28th. About 2,700 people attended last year's event.
Westling noted Showcase is a project of the chamber, the Rotary Club of Estevan and the Estevan Lions Club, and it benefits the community. Part of last year's surplus was used to purchase cell phone boosters for the Icon Centre, which will improve cell coverage in the building once they are installed.
