Long weekend police report

Estevan Police Service members were dispatched to a report of a female in distress in central Estevan on Sunday night. The female was located, at which time it was determined that the situation was as a result of a domestic dispute. The matter was defused, and the female was transported home without further incident.

Police were dispatched to a construction area in north-central Estevan on a report of a suspicious person in the area. Nobody was observed on police arrival, and no further reports were received.

A number of traffic-related offences resulted in charges, including proceeding through a red light, speeding and more.

Police responded to a complaint at a central Estevan establishment on Saturday night, as an individual refused to leave. The 24-year-old male was arrested at the scene, and transported to the police station, where he was lodged in cells due to his level of his impairment. He was released the following day when sober.

A 19-year-old male was issued a three-day suspension, as a result of a traffic stop in north Estevan. The male, who showed signs of impairment, provided a breath sample into an approved screening device, which resulted in an alert reading. He was also issued a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign under the Traffic Safety Act.

Members responded to two noise complaints in the city, which resulted in the home owners being warned of the noise bylaw. No further action was required.

Police responded to another noise compliant in northwest Estevan, which resulted in the home owner being charged under the City of Estevan's noise bylaw due to noncompliance with a previous warning.

A 25-year-old male was arrested and charged for assault on Friday night, stemming from a domestic disturbance in south Estevan. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on September 29.

Police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance in south Estevan, but members were not able to locate the individuals involved upon arrival.

Members were dispatched to a north-central residence, as a result of a noise complaint. The resident of the home was charged with creating an unnecessary noise.

Police were called to a northeast Estevan establishment, because a patron was refusing to leave. The 24-year-old male was leaving upon police arrival, at which time he was taken home by a roommate.

An 18-year-old male was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and for breaching the conditions of his probation, following a traffic stop in north Estevan. A 17-year-old youth was also charged during the same incident, for breaching a condition of his probation, which was to abstain from consuming a controlled substance. The two males are schedule to make their first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on September 29.

Police were called to an east Estevan establishment, because a patron was refusing to leave and causing a disturbance. The 30-year-old male was arrested upon police arrival, and transported to the police station, where he was lodged in cells for being intoxicated in a public place under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act. He was also charged with remaining at a premise after being asked to leave.

A police investigation on Wednesday resulted in a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The warrant was executed at a residence in central Estevan, which resulted in four suspects being arrested: two 51-year-old males, a 36-year-old male and a 36-year-old female. The matter remains under investigation.
