Possible drowning at Alameda Dam

Members of the Carnduff RCMP were dispatched to a report of a possible drowning on the Alameda Dam yesterday afternoon.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a 43-year-old man disappear under the water while he was trying to swim across the river. Attempts by witnesses to locate the man were not successful.

Oxbow Search and Rescue, EMS crews, Carnduff RCMP and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team have been at the scene to search for the missing man. Additional information will be provided as the investigation unfolds.

The name of the missing man is not being released at this time.
