Midale celebrated the community's past, and paid tribute to the agriculture sector's rich history, during the Souris Valley Antique Association's annual Pioneer Echoes weekend on August 16 and 17.
The town's historical village was open both days. People could tour the various historical buildings, such as a one-room school, an old church, the blacksmith building and more. Fried bread dough and ice cream were served.
An antique parade was held each day in the historical village. Old-time tractors, combines and other agricultural implements were joined by vintage vehicles and fire trucks. Threshing demonstrations followed the parade.
Other highlights included a church service, a flea market and multiple vendors. The town's museum was also open each day.
