The Sun Country Health Region has announced that the Gainsborough Health Centre could be open again early next month.
Sun Country said on August 18 that public health and regional maintenance officials have determined that a thorough cleaning, and the further dehumidification of the facility, can proceed.
"It is expected to take approximately two weeks to get the facility prepared for the residents to move back in," Sun Country stated in a media advisory. "It is projected that the residents will be moved back home September 2nd and September 3rd."
Sun Country will advise the public if those plans change.
Full sewer and water services at the health centre have also been restored.
The health centre has been closed since late June, when flooding swept through Gainsborough.
Thirteen long-term care residents were moved to long-term care facilities in Weyburn, Carlyle, Oxbow and Carnduff. Two residents and two respite patients returned temporarily to their families.
Residents can remain in their new accommodations until the health centre reopens.
