Greens elect Cannington candidate

The Green Party of Saskatchewan has acclaimed Tierra Lemieux to run in the Cannington constituency in the next provincial election.

Lemieux is from Oxbow and works as a custodian.

Green Party Leader Victor Lau said he is excited to have a candidate like Lemieux on the ballot in the Cannington constituency.

“Tierra Lemieux nicely rounds out our team of candidates in southeast Saskatchewan, and along the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border,” said Lau. “Tierra is an individual with a deep understanding of the political issues in the southeast, and will make a fantastic MLA for Cannington.”

The acclamation of Lemieux gives the Green Party 31 out of 61 nominated candidates for the next provincial election.

"Long-time Cannington MLA Dan D'Autremont of the Saskatchewan Party was acclaimed as the Sask. Party's candidate at a meeting on August 5. (Please see next week's edition of Lifestyles for more on this story).
