The Beef Bar will be hosting a fundraiser on Saturday August 9 for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games that will be taking place in Estevan.
There will be various attractions happening throughout the day. The activities start at 10 a.m. Some of the events will be loosely based on the Olympics.
“It’s not going to be typical Olympic events. It’s going to be a twist on some more fun options,” said The Beef Bar manager Melissa Marcotte.
One event will be a relay, she said. But it involves carrying a glass of water on a tray from one end of the parking lot to the other without spilling it.
People don’t have to register for The Beef’s games, and there will be door prizes throughout the day, Marcotte said.
“It’s just for fun, it’s not going to be points based or competition based,” she said.
Deejay III Zero will be set up outside during the day.
“We’re getting a special permit from Sask. Liquor for a beer gardens outside, so we’ll have a special patio that day,” she said.
There will be a video and light show by the deejay starting at 9 p.m.
Some of the proceeds generated by the sales throughout the day will go towards the 2016 Summer Games. Marcotte says that they hope to raise $2,500 to $3,000 for the Summer Games committee.
