Train and truck collide

Comments

Two males sustained minor injuries in an accident between a truck and a train southeast of Estevan on August 2.

A 58-year-old male and a 29-year-old male were the occupants of a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche which struck the side of the train. The Estevan RCMP, Estevan Police Service, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the scene.

No one onboard the train was injured, and the collision didn’t cause a derailment or a spill.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident. The cause is still under investigation. Charges under the Traffic Safety Act may be pending.
