Stroh signs in Florida

Former Estevan Bruin Kyle Stroh has signed with the East Coast Hockey League's Florida Everblades for the 2014-15 season.

Stroh, 25, joins the Everblades after posting 21 points (13 goals and eight assists) last season with the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League. He added six points (one goal and five assists) in seven playoff games with the Rush.

Stroh, who hails from Vibank, played three seasons with the Bruins from 2006 to 2009. He tallied 65 goals and 124 points in 157 games. He was the team's rookie of the year in 2006-07.

Then he spent four seasons playing with St. Norbert College, an NCAA Division III program, from 2009 to 2013, where he had 103 points in 115 games. Stroh won national championships in 2011 and 2012.

Last year was his first campaign as a pro.

“Kyle is a player we recruited two seasons ago, and we happy to be able to get him now,” said Everblades head coach Greg Poss. “He is a really good two-way center who is coming off a solid first professional season. We expect good things out of him in his second year.”

The Everblades play in Estero, which is in southwest Florida.
