Colleen Sutton’s homage to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, RiderGirl, will be returning to the Souris Valley Theatre in Estevan.
RiderGirl will be performed on Tuesday, August 26, at 7:30 p.m. The show was at the theatre for the first time last year.
When Sutton had an opening on her schedule this summer, she broached the theatre about possibly returning to Estevan.
RiderGirl was originally produced for the Winnipeg Fringe Festival in 2012. It is Sutton’s autobiographical look at how the life of a Rider fan is mirrored and affected by the team she loves.
A tailgate party, with food and drinks, will happen before the show.
The play, which is a one-person show, was written and is performed by Sutton. It chronicles her introduction to Rider Pride as a teenaged member of the Riders’ pep band in the 1990s, and offers a glimpse into triumphs and losses for the team, and for Sutton, over the last 20 years.
She has performed Rider Girl at locations across Canada, including the 2013 Grey Cup in Regina.
