A local young person has pledged his support for the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation.

Josh Mardik, a Hillcrest School student who is entering the seventh grade, recently presented a cheque for $250 to foundation executive director Becky Conly. Josh decided to support the foundation after attending We Day in Saskatoon last year.

He was challenged to choose two causes to support, one of them local and the other international.

The international cause he chose was global warming. And the local one was the hospital foundation.

He collected empty bottles and other containers all winter, and stood on a corner with signs in the winter months, asking for bottles.
