Germany won the 2014 FIFA World Cup of Soccer, getting past Argentina 1-0 in extra time in the final. The game-winning goal came at the 112-minute of the game, when Mario Gotze scored. Germany finished the group stage with a 2-0-1 record, and reached the final by hammering host Brazil 7-1 in the semi-final. Their last title came in 1974, when West Germany won it.
In Major League Soccer, Toronto FC beat the Houston Dynamo 4-2 in a one-sided game. Toronto is in third place the Eastern Conference.
In Major League Baseball, the Seattle Mariners took two of three games from the Oakland Athletics. The Mariners record is 51-44 going into the all-star break and their next game is July 18 against the Los Angeles Angels.
In the Western Major Baseball League, the Regina Red Sox lost to the Lethbridge Bulls 6-4 in a one-sided game. The Red Sox are in first place in the East Division.
In the CFL, the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost to the B.C. Lions 26-13 in a bad game. Hopefully they will regroup during their bye week. The Riders’ record is 1-2 and their next game is Week 5 against the Toronto Argonauts.

In the Arena Football League, the Cleveland Gladiators edged the San Antonio Talons 50-47 in overtime. The Gladiators' record is 15-1 and their next game is against the Jacksonville Sharks.
Other scores from Week 18 were: the Portland Thunder beat L.A. Kiss 44-31, the Spokane Shock upset the Arizona Rattlers 73-65 and the San Jose Sabercats beat the Tampa Bay Storm 52-43.
