Several golfers from southeast Saskatchewan were entered in the Saskatchewan Amateur Women's Championship and the Saskatchewan Senior Women's Championship at Golf Kenosee from July 4 to 6.
In the women's amateur, Shelley Big Eagle of Manor was the top southeast entrant. She finished the three-round tournament with a cumulative score of 269. She had rounds of 94 and 92 in the first and second rounds, respectively, but saved her best for the final round, as she carded an 83.
Ali Dunning of Carlyle was 10th. She had scores of 103, 102 and 104, for a three-round total of 209.
Kimberley Risulmi of Lloydminster won the tournament with a three-round score of 231 (75-83-73).
In the senior women's, Wendy Currie of Kenosee Lake was the top southeast golfer. She finished fifth with a three-round total of 250 (85-87-94).
Linda Murphy of Estevan was eighth with a 276 (90-96-90). Jeanie Arndt of Kenosee Lake was 11th with a 288 (97-94-97); Bev Grimes of Arcola was tied for 12th with a 291 (105-95-91); and Bonnie Brady of Kenosee Lake was 16th with a 316 (118-96-102).
Lorie Boyle of Moose Jaw won the tournament with a three-round score of 252 (81-83-88).
