Alameda's releases reduced

Comments

The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency (WSA) has reduced the releases from the Alameda Dam.

Patrick Boyle from the WSA said the outflows were cut from 30 cubic metres per second (m3/s) to six m3/s on July 11. The releases had been at 30 m3/s from July 2 to 11 to bring down the level of the reservoir.

Alameda Dam's water levels increased in late June due to the heavy precipitation that fell on the region.

The WSA is continuing to monitor the situation at Alameda on a week-to-week basis, Boyle said. A decision hasn't been made on when the releases might change again.

The elevation of the reservoir was at 561.97 metres, as of the afternoon of July 15. Full supply level is 562 metres.
