Part of 13th Avenue closed

Comments

Two blocks on 13th Avenue in Estevan are closed, due to repairs on the road.

A portion of 13th Avenue is closed to traffic, and will likely remain closed until the end of the month.

City manager Amber Smale said repairs are happening on 13th from Sixth Street to Fourth Street. This is Phase 2 of the Highway 47 rebuild project that started last year. Underground utilities are being replaced. Sidewalks will be repaired. Then the two blocks of 13th Avenue will be resurfaced.

The project will also include resurfacing of the intersection at Sixth Street at 13th Avenue.

Heavy trucks are being rerouted from the downtown truck route to Fourth Street or other roads during the project. Trucks that are making local deliveries will still be allowed on the downtown truck route.

Smale said the project is slated to be finished at the end of the month, but that is weather-dependent.
