Several local residents travelled to Saskatoon recently for the provincial music festival.

Everett Schwabb was in the senior brass division. He performed Concert Etude Op. 49 by Goedicki, on his trumpet.

Matthew Grunert was entered in intermediate brass. He also played a routine on his trumpet, La Danza by Rossini.

Morgan Jones was entered in intermediate piano and intermediate woodwind. In the piano division, she played Changes by Louie; in the woodwind class, she performed Suite in A minor: Third Movement (Air à l’italien) by Telemann.

Danielle Evenson served as Jones' accompanist.

McKenzie Warriner performed several different selections in the senior vocal division.

Finally, Christen Van de Woestyne entered senior vocal, and performed a musical theatre number, I Can't Say No from Oklahoma by Rodgers & Hammerstein.

The young people qualified for the festival through their performances at the Estevan and District Music Festival in March and April.
