Highlights from the June meeting of the Estevan Christian Women's After 5 Club:
*Thirty-five women attended the meeting, which was the club's final get-together prior to the summer break.
*Kelley Eagles from Macoun provided the entertainment during supper.
*Estevan Public Library adult programming coordinator Krista Laroque shared what the local branch offers for adults. Those services range from free computer and smart phone advice, to cooking and crafting classes. They also have book clubs and more.
*Deb Odegaard, a retired early childhood educator, and now a recycling program coordinator from Creighton, was the guest speaker. She chronicled her upbringing in a conservative church, and how she found Jesus in many unlikely circumstances while she travelled around the world.
*Janessa Ireland was the winner of a cookbook compiled by women who have attended the club's supper meetings. Recipes for the cookbook can still be submitted until the end of June. Proceeds will go to Stonecroft Ministries, the organization that the local After Five Club is affiliated with.
*Two local graduating Grade 12 students, Kaira Schwengler-Kyle from Estevan and Amy Morris from Lampman, were honored for their accomplishments, and received gifts from the meeting's sponsors. Carol Haberstock and Olive Fergusson provided the decorations for the graduation themed evening.
*The club's next meeting will happen in mid-September.
