The Estevan Police Service and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance with the following crime.
On the evening June 14, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to an accident in the north-central area of the city. On arrival, a four-wheel ATV was found abandoned, after it had rolled and collided with a parked vehicle.
To this date, there are no witnesses to the incident, and the driver of the ATV fled the scene. Evidence at the scene led police to suspect the driver sustained minor injuries from the accident.
Police also suspect this incident is related to another accident a few blocks away, in which an ATV hit a fence and caused damage before leaving.

Police responded to a hit-and-run that happened on Fifth Street on July 2. The caller described the vehicle, and the police located it a couple of blocks away. The male driver was charged for failing to report an accident. His vehicle was subjected to a complete light vehicle inspection.
Officers were called to a rollover on King Street. A road packer had to take evasive action, as it was cut off by another vehicle. The driver of the packer hit the curb and rolled onto its side. Police received descriptions of the female driver and the vehicle that caused the rollover. The matter is under investigation.
Police received a call about a possible drunk driver on July 1. Officers attended the area and located the driver. He was subsequently arrested and transported back to the police station, where he refused to provide a breath sample. The 41-year-old B.C. male was held in cells, and will appear later in August to answer to charges of impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample.
A report of an impaired driver was received on July 1. The vehicle was observed traveling along Fifth Street in an aggressive manner. Police were located the vehicle, and the operator was sober. He was spoken to about his driving actions.
An investigation is underway into the theft of a quad from a trailer parked in the yard of a business on the east end of the city. The suspects broke into the trailer, then drove the quad out of the area. Other items were also stolen from the trailer, including fuel and helmets. Police are requesting the public’s assistance regarding this theft. Anyone with information is asked to call the Estevan Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
Police were called to an accident at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Fourth Street. A westbound vehicle made an illegal turn in the centre of the street, cutting in front of another vehicle traveling the same direction. Damage to both vehicles was extensive, and the driver of the victim vehicle suffered minor injuries. She was treated and released from hospital. The operator of the offending vehicle has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
Police were called to an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store on Fourth Street in the early morning hours of June 30. A lone male suspect, armed with a knife, entered the store, and demanded cash from the clerk. The suspect then fled the store. Nobody was injured in the robbery. The matter remains under investigation.
Police received several calls about noisy parties throughout the city on the 30th. Police attended, warned the homeowners and shut down several parties.
Officers were flagged down by a crowd of people in a parking lot on June 28. Two males had been knocked unconscious during an altercation with two other males. Police attempted to locate the other males involved, but they fled on foot. The incident remains under investigation. Police are asking for public assistance's in this matter. Police conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle at a gas station parking lot on June 27. While speaking to the two occupants, police became suspicious, and a search of the vehicle revealed the occupants were in possession of morphine. A 45-year-old female was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance.
Police were called to a coffee shop for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Police took the male into custody after he attempted to fight one of his friends, who wanted to take care of him.
A short time later, police were called back to the same area for a male who was passed out under a vehicle. Police located the male, who was arrested for public intoxication. He was held in cells until sober.
Police attended to the northeast side of the city on June 26 for a suspicious person. Police located the individual and spoke to him. He was sent on his way.
Police are looking into some postings on the new Estevan Confessions Facebook page. Some people are posting messages of some serious incidents within families.
A driver was stopped for driving actions. A screening device sample was taken with a reading of .01. But the person was on conditions not to consume alcohol, and was charged accordingly.
Police attended to a noise complaint. The home owner was hosting a hot tub party, and was warned of the noise bylaw.
A report impaired drivers call was received by the police. The vehicle was located and the person showed signs of impairment. A roadside screening device demand was made, and both samples were over the limit.
Police were called to an altercation between a male and a female. The female was intoxicated and very agitated. The male was sent on his way and the female was arrested for public intoxication. She was lodged in cells, as she was not from Estevan, and had no place to go.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision at Fourth Avenue and Perkins Street. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and a female driver of one of the vehicles was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Traffic services targeted traffic offences, and more than two dozen offence tickets were issued for various infractions.
