The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost to the Edmonton Eskimos 19-14 in a close preseason game. Riders quarterback Darian Durant attempted 11 passes and completed seven for 113 yards passing, along with two touchdowns. Saskatchewan will open the regular season at home against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a rematch of the 101st Grey Cup Game, which the Riders won.
Other preseason scores were: the Ottawa RedBlacks beat the Montreal Alouettes 26-10, the Toronto Argonauts beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 41-23 and the B.C. Lions beat the Calgary Stampeders 37-13.
In the Arena Football League, the Cleveland Gladiators got past the Philadelphia Soul 69-68 in a tight game. The Gladiators' record is 12-1, and they have clinched a playoff spot. Their next game is against the Tampa Bay Storm.
Other scores from Week 15 were: the Pittsburgh Power beat the Iowa Barnstormers 57-27, the Arizona Rattlers took down LA Kiss 83-47 and the Spokane Shock beat the San Antonio Talons 70-30.
In International Rugby, the Qantas Wallabies swept France with a 39-13 win in the final game of the three-game series. The Wallabies will next face the New Zealand All-Blacks on August 16 in the Castrol Edge Rugby Championship.
In NASCAR, Carl Edwards won the Toyota/Save Mart 350, finishing ahead of Jeff Gordon. Kevin Harvick started the race in sixth and finished the race in 20th. The next race is the Quaker State 400 at the Kentucky Speedway.
In Major League Baseball, the Seattle Mariners swept the Kansas City Royals over the weekend. The Mariners are in third place in the American League West.
In the Western Major Baseball League, the Regina Red Sox beat the Yorkton Cardinals 11-6 in a close game. The Red Sox are in first place in the East Division.
