The Estevan Arts Council has announced that 12 students will receive scholarships so that they can attend summer courses in the arts.
Eleven of the bursaries are for $100. Dance scholarships went to Kayla Brodziak and Mia Hanson from the Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS), Kelsey Romanyk of Sacred Heart School/École Sacré Coeur, and Grace Christenson of Lampman School.
Theatre bursaries will be presented to ECS student Avery Dechief and Spruce Ridge's Faith Haberstock. Pleasantdale student Rebecca Duncan will receive a violin scholarship.
Sara Eggen of Hillcrest School, and Jeremy Green and Jacob Kautz of Lampman School, will receive band scholarships.
Caitlyn Green, also of Lampman School, will receive a bursary to attend a band and dance camp.
ECS student Mark Fergusson will receive the $200 Eli Mandel scholarship so that he can go to a band camp.
The Estevan Arts Council offers scholarships each year, allowing young people in Grades 5 to 12 to further their training in music, art, theatre, dance, band, writing and other disciplines.
Those who have attended summer camps or workshops in the past are always enthusiastic about the learning experience, the fun they have and the new friends that are made.
Beta Sigma Laureate Phi Chapter PL2468 and MNP charter accountants contribute to the scholarship program.
