Saskota hits midway point

Midway through the Saskota Baseball League season, the Estevan Tower Wolves have an 8-1 record to lead the league.

Estevan’s most recent games were a double-header against the Oxbow Chiefs on June 17. Estevan won both, 16-5 and 20-14. They also defeated the Arcola Threshers 1-0 on June 12.

Right behind the Wolves are the Carlyle Cardinals (4-1-1). The Cardinals beat the Kenosee Cubs 7-5 on the 12th.

In third place are the Carnduff Astros (5-2). Their latest road game resulted in a 7-5 loss to the Wawota Pats on the 16th. They were also in action on June 12, and earned an 11-6 road win against the Lampman Pirates.

Kenosee (4-3) is fourth; they recovered from their loss to the Astros to shut out the Pats 7-0 in Wawota on June 16.

The Pirates (4-3-1) are fifth. They recently split a pair of games, falling to the Astros, but defeating Arcola 4-3 on June 14.

Oxbow (2-4-2) is in sixth; their latest losses came to the Wolves on June 16. They also played on June 12, and earned a 11-7 home victory against the Pats.

The Pats (2-5-1) are in seventh, the Threshers (1-5-2) are eighth, and Redvers (1-6) is in the basement.

Upcoming games in the league are:

*Thursday June 19: Carlyle at Carnduff, and Arcola at Redvers. Games start at 6:30 p.m. Lampman plays Estevan, and that game starts at 7:30 p.m.  

*Friday June 20: Oxbow at Kenosee at 6:30p.m.

*Saturday June 21: Carnduff at Carlyle at 6 p.m.

*Sunday June 22: Redvers at Kenosee and Estevan at Carnduff. Both games start at 6:30 p.m.

*Tuesday June 24: Kenosee at Lampman, Arcola at Carnduff, Estevan at Redvers and Wawota at Carlyle. Games start at 6:30 p.m.
