The 10th annual Saskatchewan Morgan and Open Horse Show on June 14 and 15 attracted 21 competitors to the Estevan Exhibition grounds.
The event consisted of many events of Morgan and open classes that focused on the showmanship of the horse.
Horse show chairman Stan Milford said that points that the competitors earn in competition can be used at other shows.
“So I think that it is good for anybody that comes and that’s why some of them come, for the points they pick up,” he said.
Judges determined the winner of each class. They looked for qualities such as showmanship and horsemanship.
This particular show included several driving classes, which were a single horse pulling a cart, and team driving classes. There are only a couple of older style of country shows that still have those classes, according to Milford.
The show attracted participants from Estevan, Bienfait, Carlyle, Oxbow, Kipling, Moose Jaw and Pilot Butte.
