Wolves cling to lead

Dylan Lafrentz pitched the Estevan Tower Wolves to victory against the Kenosee Cubs on June 5 at Lynne Prime Park.

The Estevan Tower Wolves remain at the top of the Saskota Baseball League with a record of 5-1.

Their latest league victory came against the Kenosee Cubs, as they defeated them 7-4 on June 5 at Lynne Prime Park.

The Carnduff Astros (4-1) are in second as they recently beat the Redvers A’s 9-3 on June 10 at home.

In third place are the Carlyle Cardinals (3-1-1). They earned an 8-2 home victory against the Oxbow Chiefs June 10. The also played the Lampman Pirates at home on June 5, and the game resulted in an 8-8 tie.

The Pirates (3-2-1) are in fourth. They defeated the Wawota Pats 10-2 on June 10 on the road, and also tied the Cardinals.

Kenosee (2-2) sits in fifth place.

In sixth place are the Arcola Threshers (1-2-2), as they were in Oxbow on June 5 and the game resulted in a 7-7 tie.

Wawota (1-2-1) is in seventh; they recently played two games. They lost to Redvers 11-6 on June 5, and then lost to Lampman.

Oxbow (1-3-1) slipped to eighth place with their recent losses, and the A’s (1-6) recently earned their first win of the season over Wawota, but they are still in last place.

Upcoming games in the league are:

*Thursday June 12: Carnduff at Lampman, Estevan at Arcola, Wawota at Oxbow and Kenosee at Carlyle. Games start at 6:30 p.m.

*Tuesday June 17: Arcola at Lampman, Carlyle at Redvers and Carnduff at Wawota. Games start at 6:30.  Oxbow at Estevan starts at 7:30 p.m.
