Donations for nursing homes

(L-R) Estevan Regional Nursing Home (ERNH) auxiliary member Rhonda Olver, ERNH recreation coordinator Susan Murphy, St. Monica's Parish Catholic Women's League (CWL) member Connie Gibson, Hearthstone Community Campaign representatives Tania Andrist and Don Kindopp, and CWL members Carol Knievel, Mary Sernick and Bonnie Pukas participated in cheque presentations on May 30.

The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) from St. Monica’s Parish in Bienfait made multiple cheque presentations, worth a total of $3,200, on May 30.

First they presented $2,200 to the Estevan Regional Nursing Home. A total of $2,000 will be directed to refurbish an old sun room. The room will receive paint and new furnishings, which will create a nice visiting area for families.

The nursing home will also receive $200 for bedding plants in the gardens.

The CWL also presented $1,000 to the Hearthstone Community Campaign, which is raising funds for the construction of a new nursing home in Estevan.

Funds were raised through the CWL's pie sales. According to CWL member Bonnie Pukas, they want to give back to the community by donating to church organizations and other worthy causes.
