MS Walk raises $17,000

Estevan's MS Walk attracted participants of all ages. Many walked around Affinity Place.

Local residents once again showed their support for the fight against multiple sclerosis (MS), as Estevan's MS Walk on May 25 raised about $17,000.

Forty-four people were involved in this year's walk. Most of them were on one of the eight teams that were registered, but a few of them did sign up as individuals.

Amber Ganje was the top fundraiser, as she brought in $7,100. She was also on the top team, Body and Sole, which raised $12,000.

Participants had the option of whether they wanted to complete the five-kilometre walk inside or outside. Those who walked indoors used the track at Affinity Place. People who opted for the outdoor walk went around much of Estevan.
