Police investigating complaint about noxious substance

Comments

The Estevan Police Service is investigating a report of a 41-year-old Estevan female unknowingly being given a substance, in her drink, while at a local licensed business.

The female was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by EMS after consuming the beverage. She was released after undergoing an observation and tests.

Police are asking that patrons at drinking establishments be aware of the drinks they are consuming, and to not leave their beverages unattended for any length of time. They should also not accept a drink from anyone they don't trust.

Employees at the various bars and lounges are also being reminded of their responsibility when it comes to the safe consumption of alcohol or other beverages.

The matter is still under investigation. Anyone with information on this offence, or any similar offences, is asked to contact Constable Jay Pierson or Constable Evan Handley at 306-634-4767.
