(L-R) Lee Symons, who is the son of the late Marv Symons, presents Nolan Rohatyn, Fern Walton and Scott Blackstock with the championship plaque for the Marv Symons Memorial Golf Tournament.

Golfers endured windy and wet conditions during the Marv Symons Memorial Golf Tournament on May 19. The annual event attracted 72 golfers.

There were three categories in the tournament: men’s, senior men’s and women's.

Nolan Rohatyn was the overall winner in the men’s championship flight, as he shot a 76.

He said that knowing the course helped, and even though he said he didn’t play great, he was glad that he did well enough to win.

The runner-up was Kevin Toombs with a 77. Ron Dunville and last year’s champion, Cody Balon, were tied for third with a 78.

Dave Price won the first flight, Tony Sernick took the second flight, Matt Bakke won the third flight and Travis Perry won the fourth flight.

In the senior men’s championship flight, Scott Blackstock was on top, as he shot a 72, which was the best score of the day.

Garry Millions shot a 76, which was good enough for second. Terry Rohatyn finished in third with 72 and Al Miller was fourth with an 81.

Fern Walton was the winner of the women's champion flight, as she scored a 90. Darlene Millions took second with a 104, and Kim Morrissey was third with a 106.
