A joint investigation involving members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, along with the New Brunswick Integrated Child Exploitation Unit, has led to the arrest of southeast Saskatchewan resident.
Carlyle RCMP apprehended and charged a 53-year-old Carlyle resident on May 15.
He is facing charges of possessing child pornography, communicating with a person under the age of 18 years to facilitate the commission of an offence; and sending sexual material to a person under the age of 18 years to facilitate the commission of an offence.
The accused will make his first court appearance on July 16 in provincial court in Carlyle.
The name of the charged will not be released at this time to protect the identity of the child victim.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit consists of members from the Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, Prince Albert Police Service and the RCMP.
