Fundraisers prove successful

Comments

Creighton Lodge co-managers Judy Pratt and Shelly Veroba were pleased with the success of the lodge's recent fundraisers.

Two recent fundraisers for Creighton Lodge proved to be very successful.

The first was a vacation voucher raffle. A total of 493 tickets were sold, and supporters had the chance to win one of three vouchers.

The winners of the vouchers were announced at the other fundraiser – a supper and dance on May 11 at the Days Inn. Eighty-six people attended the benefit.

Barb Fornwald of Lampman won the top prize – a $5,000 trip voucher. Kathy Lafrentz of Bienfait will receive $3,500 for travel, and Bob Scott of Estevan will receive a $1,500 for a vacation.

It is believed that the two fundraisers fetched somewhere between $45,000 and $50,000 for the proposed expansion of Creighton Lodge's lounge. Co-manager Shelly Veroba said Creighton Lodge has now raised nearly $400,000 for the project.

The initial expectation was that the lounge expansion would cost about $500,000, but that was based on prices from two years ago. Veroba said they need to have all of the money in place before the expansion can begin.
