Auxiliary presents another cheque

St. Joseph's Hospital executive director Greg Hoffort, United Way Estevan treasurer Lynn Trobert, and St. Joseph's Health Care Auxiliary representatives Nola Joseph, Darla Wilhelm and Sharon Heinz participated in a cheque presentation.

The St. Joseph's Health Care Auxiliary continues to make progress in its efforts to pay for upgrades in the intensive care unit (ICU).

The auxiliary presented a cheque for $15,000 to St. Joseph's Hospital executive director Greg Hoffort during the auxiliary's annual tea and bake sale on May 7. The auxiliary has now paid down $60,000 of the equipment's $80,000 cost.

The auxiliary committed to purchasing the ICU equipment upgrades back in August of 2012. They bought three new beds, three ICU bed side monitors and three overbed tables.

During the last 21 months, they have been fundraising and receiving donations to help pay off the equipment costs.

Allocations from the United Way Estevan have also helped them out.

As for the tea and bake sale, many people turned out to socialize over a cup of tea or coffee, and to purchase fresh baking.
