Estevan Police Service members stopped a vehicle Saturday night due to its driving actions. The motorist showed signs of impairment. A roadside screening device demand was made, and an “F” reading was obtained. Two more breath demands occurred, and the male supplied two samples, both of which were well over the legal limit. Also, his drivers' license was suspended for unpaid fines, and the vehicle he was driving was unregistered. He was charged for driving while over .08, impaired driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving while suspended.
Police received a call about a noisy party. The complainant was unsure where the party was happening. Police patrolled the area, and could not locate the house.
Officers were called to a local bar for an assault. The victim was located, but did not wish to provide a statement or proceed with charges.

Police were later called to the intersection of 12th Avenue and Fourth Street, due to an injured male. Police located him and noticed he was bleeding quite badly from his hand. EMS was contacted and the subject was treated at the scene. He was heavily intoxicated, and police were unable to determine the cause of the injury. He was released to the care of a family member. The matter is still being looked into.
Officers were dispatched to an east-central parking lot on Wednesday night, on a report of two individuals who were smoking marijuana. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was determined that the complaint was unfounded. The matter has been concluded.
An 18-year-old female was charged following an investigation into the theft of a Sony PlayStation. The female took the PlayStation upon moving out of a residence where she was boarding. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance in Estevan on June 2.

Police initiated a traffic stop in north-central Estevan, at which time a 33-year-old male was charged with driving while suspended under the Traffic Safety Act. His vehicle was towed as a result.

Police were dispatched to a north-central Estevan residence on an assault report. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived. There weren't any injuries, and the matter is under investigation.

A complaint was received on Tuesday night about someone shining a green laser at drivers as they passed by. The caller advised police that the male subjects were outside of a local drinking establishment at the time. Members attended and spoke to five male subjects. They were advised of the reason they were being spoken to, and then searched. Police did not locate the laser in their possession, and they denied involvement.
Police attended to a call of two male subjects fighting the middle of the street in the downtown area. Members found the males, and they said they were friends, and they were not really fighting. They were warned of causing a disturbance and were told to leave the area immediately.
Officers were notified of a fire alarm. A patron in a local drinking establishment had activated the alarm.
A 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer, and breaching the conditions of his recognizance, after police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle he was operating. He was also a suspended driver, and was charged accordingly. The vehicle he was operating has been seized and impounded for a minimum of 30 days. He will make a court appearance on June 2.
