Henders Drugs the latest supporters for Hearthstone

Comments

Participating in a cheque presentation were: new Estevan Regional Nursing Home committee chair Don Kindopp, Henders Drugs co-owner Larry Preddy, Hearthstone Community Campaign chair Vern Buck, Henders Drugs co-owner Allen Miller and Hearthstone committee member Tania Andrist.

Henders' Drugs in Estevan is the latest business to make a significant contribution to the Hearthstone Community Campaign.

Henders donated $25,000 to the campaign on April 25. The contribution pushed Hearthstone above the $7.4 million mark. The campaign needs to raise $8 million – or 20 per cent of the new nursing home's projected $40 million cost – before the project can get the green light.

Henders co-owner Allen Miller said the company believes that the residents and staff at the existing nursing home deserve a better place to live and work.

New nursing home committee chair Don Kindopp said the building won't be constructed using a private-public partnership (P3) model. It would have to be worth at least $100 million to be eligible for a P3.
