Everything Fitz, a six-person family band, will wrap up Estevan's 2013-14 Stars for Saskatchewan season.
The concert will take place at the Estevan Comprehensive School on Sunday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m.
Everything Fitz features the high-energy fiddling and percussive step dancing of the Fitzgerald family – four young musicians and their parents. With roots in the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition and Ottawa Valley step dancing, their unique stage show combines a variety of musical styles.
They play bluegrass, Celtic and gospel music, traditional jigs and reels, and jazz and swing standards, along with novelty numbers and choreographed dance routines.
Three of the children – Julie, Kerry and Tom – are champion fiddlers, and provide intricate three-part fiddle harmonies as well as solo improvisations on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar. Additional instrumentation includes a fourth child, Pat, on percussion.
Parents Pam and Paddy accompany their children on piano and bass guitar.
An audience favourite is their award-winning group step dancing.
Everything Fitz members are noted for their polished performances, and they provide wholesome entertainment for a diverse audience. They have toured the continent thanks to their musical abilities, and have previously appeared in Estevan through Stars for Saskatchewan.
