Local team qualifies for nationals

For the second straight year, a team of local billiards players from the Estevan Royal Canadian Legion has advanced to the national tournament.

Steven Lalonde, Kerry Lalonde, Chris Wright and Doug Jensen from the local Legion defended their provincial title earlier this year in Prince Albert. They will compete at the national tournament in Tecumseh, Ontario, in May.

In an effort to raise funds for the trip, the Legion allowed the team's members to host two karaoke nights in March. They also sold hamburgers, soup and dessert at the Legion prior to the most recent karaoke night on March 29.
