Switzerland wins women's curling worlds

Team Switzerland upset Team Canada, skipped by Rachel Homan, 9-5 at the Ford Women’s World Curling Championship in Saint John, New Brunswick. Canada was leading 5-3 after seven then things fell apart. Canada finished the round robin with a 10-1 record, and then defeated Switzerland in the first round of the playoff to advance to the final. Switzerland then beat South Korea to get into the final. This is Switzerland’s second title; the last one was in 2012 when Mirjam Ott led the Swiss to a win.In the Arena Football League, the Philadelphia Soul lost to the San Jose Sabercats 70-33 in a one-sided game. The Soul’s record is 0-2 and their next game is against the Tampa Bay Storm.Other scores from Week 2 were: the Orlando Predators got past L.A. Kiss 96-63, the Arizona Rattlers beat the Spokane Shock 68-49, and the Tampa Bay Storm got past the San Antonio Talons 48-45.In the AHL, the Binghamton Senators swept the Norfolk Admirals. The Senators are in third place in the Eastern Conference.In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers got past the Detroit Pistons 112-103 in a close game. The Clippers are in first place in the Pacific Division.In Major League Soccer, the Toronto FC got past DC United 1-0 in their home opener. Toronto’s record is 2-0 and their next game is against Real Salt Lake.In the English Premier League, Manchester United got past West Ham United 2-0 in a close game. Man U’s record is 15-9-6 and they are in seventh in the League.In NCAA Baseball, the Florida Gators took one of three games from the Texas A&M Aggies. The Gators are in fifth place in the South Eastern Conference East Division.In NASCAR, Kyle Bush won the Auto Club 400, as he finished ahead of Kyle Larson. Kevin Harvick started the race in fourth place and finished the race in 36th. The next race is the STP 500.That’s all folks!
