After 5 Club holds March meeting

Highlights from the March 19 meeting of the Estevan Christian Women's After 5 Club:

*Helen Thiessen from the Estevan Church of God’s worship team provided the music, as she performed two selections.

*Jennifer Anderson from the St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Adult Day Hospital spoke about the program's benefits. Clients are typically people who require health care support, but don't have to lose their independence. They can enjoy benefits such as whirlpool baths, foot care, diagnostic services and recreation therapy. They can also socialize and share a meal with others who attend the program. People between the ages of 55 and 98 currently use the service.

*The featured speaker was Diane Laubenstein from Burdett, Alberta. Her speech was based on her list, "Fourteen things I know for sure."  Laubenstein is a grandmother who enjoys planning holidays, collecting recipes, giving gifts and hoarding paper crafts, and she is also into jewelry. She became a Christian for the first time at the age of eight, and recommitted herself to the faith years later while attending an event through Stonecroft Ministries, which is the parent organization for the After 5 Club. She discussed her experiences in her faith and the impact God has had on her life.

*The next meeting will be April 16 at Living Hope Community Church. Tammy Watchman will provide music. The Kenosee Lake Bible Camp will be the spotlight speakers. Laurie Abbott, a college professor and archeologist from Calgary, will share her story, Searching for the Ultimate Hidden Treasure
