Beach Bash date set

The preparations have begun for the annual Beach Bash at the Woodlawn Regional Park's Boundary Dam beach site.

Tourism Estevan revealed earlier this month that the event will be on Saturday, August 16.

“Beach bash has been an outstanding event in the last two summers, and we’re excited to be hosting it again this year,” said Tourism Estevan executive director Michel Cyrenne.

“We’ve got a great recreational area within Woodlawn Regional Park and this is an excellent opportunity to showcase that area, and also provide our residents with a fun weekend to celebrate summer in Estevan.”

Marketing and events coordinator Rebecca Howie said that several bands who performed in 2013 will be back this year, including Third Degree Birnz, who headlined last year's event.

“The planning stages are underway right now, we are looking for more activities on the beach this year and planning on adding a children’s entertainer to the lineup,” said Howie.

“Last year we learned a lot from feedback from the crowd, one being the line ups for the food were too long. We are hoping to alleviate that problem and are looking for any local vendors that would like to participate this year.”

Organizations and clubs that would like to be part of Beach Bash are encouraged to contact the Tourism Estevan office.
