Corporate bonspiel in Estevan

Bernie Bjorndalen from the McGillicky Oilfield Construction team tosses a rock during the corporate bonspiel at the Power Dodge Curling Centre.

The Power Dodge Curling Centre attracted 12 teams for its annual corporate bonspiel on March 14 and 15.

URS Estevan Mechanical defeated the City of Estevan to win the A final. Arol Phair beat Western Financial in the B event, Layne Hawrylak upended JKL Farm in the C final, and ACME defeated Barry's Plumbing and Heating in the D event.

Teams played six-end games.

An added attraction for the event was a Monopoly board. Teams advanced their tokens based on the number of points they had in each game.

The board used different street names, subdivisions and attractions in Estevan for the squares on the board. If teams landed on certain squares, they received prizes.

ACME accumulated the most points during the bonspiel, so they were the Monopoly champs.
