Hillcrest Mardi Gras

Hillcrest School's school community council, spirit club, staff, and Grade 5 and 6 students hosted a Mardi Gras celebration on March 4. The celebration featured a variety of activities, prizes and souvenirs. A king and queen of the event were crowned. The Grade 5 and 6 pupils researched Mardi Gras and French culture in New Orleans to help them host the event, which also raised $600. Money will be split between the library, the Build-a-Schoolhouse fundraiser at Hillcrest, and a fund for future events.
