The Souris Valley (SV) Theatre has announced one of the productions that that will be performed at Frehlick Hall this year.
The Marvelous Wonderettes, written by Roger Bean, will be shown from July 3 to 19, with performances taking place from Tuesday to Saturday in the evening. There will also be Thursday matinees.
The show features hit songs form the 1950s and ‘60s, including Mr. Sandman, Dream Lover, It’s in his Kiss, It’s my Party, Respect and many more. The first half of the show takes the audience to the Springfield High School prom in 1958, where they will meet the Wonderettes – four girls with big hopes and dreams.
The second act takes place 10 years later at a high school reunion.
It will be the first large production of the summer. The cast has not been finalized, but the theatre said in a press release that artistic director Kenn McLeod is working on finding a cast to bring the show to life.
At least one other production will be announced at a later date.
