Novice Bruins win B event

The Estevan Tier 1 Novice Bruins captured the B event in their first tournament of the year.

The competition was held March 1 and 2 in Rouleau and Regina.

Estevan finished second in the round robin with a 1-0-2 record. They opened with the two ties: 3-3 against Southey/Cupar and 2-2 versus the Regina Bulldogs. Nathan Wagstaff scored twice against Southey/Cupar, and Kade Phillips also scored.

Wagstaff and Ty Hoste scored against the Bulldogs.

The Bruins closed out the round-robin with a 4-0 win over the Regina Rockies. Wagstaff scored twice, while Hoste and Shaun Von Sprecken had the other goals.

In the B final, Estevan routed the Regina Eagles 8-0. Wagstaff and Hoste each had a hat trick in the final, while Denver Sehn scored twice.

Tallan Howie was in goal for all four games.

The novice team's next action will be their home tournament March 8 and 9.
