Teams finish their regular seasons

The Estevan Blue Rock Junior Midget Bruins wrapped up their regular season with a 5-3 loss to the Regina Blues on March 1 in Regina.

Peyton Stevenson scored twice for Estevan. Justin Weinrauch had the other goal. JJ Holma assisted on all three tallies.

Cole Barnstable was the goaltender.

The loss ended the junior midgets' unbeaten streak at eight games.

Estevan finished third in Hockey Regina's Midget 15 division with a 14-8-2 record. They'll receive a first round bye, and then play the Blues in the league semi-final.

The Estevan Century 21 Bantam A Bruins are entering their league playoffs on a four-game winning streak and an eight-game unbeaten streak in league play.

They finished the regular season by defeating the Regina Panthers 5-4 on March 3 in Regina. The Panthers led 4-2 with 13 minutes to play in the third, but goals by Eric Gusikoski, Quintin Davidson and Damon Wanner lifted Estevan to the victory.

Gusikoski had Estevan's other two goals.

Zack Miller was in goal for the victory.

Estevan finished the regular season with a 10-7-7 record, which left them seventh in Hockey Regina's Bantam A division. They'll play the Regina Stars in a best-of-three, first round series.

In provincial play, the Bantam A Bruins were knocked out of contention, as they lost 13-6 to the Yorkton Terriers in a two-game, total-goal series. Yorkton won Game 1 in Estevan 6-3 on February 28, and Game 2 7-3 in Yorkton on March 2. (Box scores were not available).
