Comments

The Power Dodge Chargers shut out Moose Jaw 7-0 in Game 1 of their league semi-final.

The Estevan Power Tech Midget AA Panthers have been eliminated from the South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League's (SSFHL) playoffs.

Estevan lost 7-5 to the Regina Ravens in a two-game, total-goal first round series. Regina won Game 1 4-3 in Estevan on March 1, and 3-2 in Regina the next day.

Regina scored twice in each of the first and second periods of Game 1 to take a 4-1 lead. Michaella Matthies had Estevan's first goal.

Brooklyn Dukart scored late in the second, and Hailey Dukart tallied early in the third, to pull Estevan to within a goal.

But they couldn't get the tying goal, and entered Game 2 down by a goal in the series.

Brooklyn Dukart and Jenna Kreklewich scored six minutes apart in the first period of Game 2 to give Estevan a 2-0 advantage, and a 5-4 lead in the series. But Regina scored early in the second to tie the series, and then tallied twice in four minutes in the third to win the game, and eliminate the Panthers.

Litesha Spittal was in goal for Game 1. Brianna Cote was the goalie for Game 2.

The Ravens will play the Regina Capitals in the SSFHL semi-final.

Estevan hopes to play at a tournament in Saskatoon before the end of the month to wrap up their season.
