Team Canada won the gold medal in men's Olympic hockey, as they beat Team Sweden 3-0. Canada was in control of the game from start to finish. Jonathan Toews opened the scoring in the first period and Chris Kunitz closed out the scoring in the third. Canada finished the tournament undefeated. In women's hockey, Canada got past the United States 3-2 in overtime in the gold medal game. In total, Canadians captured 10 gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals in a variety of winter disciplines.
In the WHL, the Regina Pats picked up two wins. They got past the Victoria Royals 3-2, and then they also got past the Calgary Hitmen 5-4 in a shootout.
In the OHL, the Windsor Spitfires split games, too. They lost to the Guelph Storm 6-4 but then they beat the Sarnia Sting 6-2.
In the AHL, the Binghamton Senators went 1-1 in recent games, as they got past the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 but then went down to the Utica Comets 3-2.
In NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Daytona 500, as he finished ahead of Denny Hamlin. Bobby Labonte started the race in 26th and finished the race in 14th place. The next race is the Profit on CNBC 500
In the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers got past the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-117 in a close game. The Clippers are in fifth place in the Western Conference.
In NCAA basketball, the No. 1 Florida Gators got past the Ole Miss Rebels 75-71 in a close game. The Gators are in first place in the South Eastern conference.
In NCAA baseball, the No. 20 the Gators took one of three games from the Miami Hurricanes. The Gators are in fifth place in the Southern Conference East Division.
