The Lego program at Sacred Heart School/École Sacré Coeur has been well-received thus far, and now it has received some financial support.
Tyler Waisman from X-Treme Picker Service presented a cheque for $1,000 to program coordinator Kelly McConnell on February 25. The money will allow the school to purchase more Lego pieces for the students.
Grade 2 students are currently part of the program; they meet every Tuesday for an hour. McConnell said that the program has enhanced the students' creativity. They find it fun, and they get to share pieces and work together.
There has been a lot of interest in the program, she said, and so it will likely be offered to students in Grades 1 to 4 before the end of the school year.
Waisman said he is a life-long Lego fan, and he wanted to support the students after one of his employees noted the program was looking for donations.
