Hillcrest School has paid tribute to Tarpon Energy for Tarpon's contributions towards the school's Breakfast Club program.
School community coordinator Sara Pippus said that Tarpon has been one of the businesses that has backed the breakfast club program since the program's inception in September of 2011.
“From the initial electrical work to get the kitchen up and running to the recent renovations to the kitchen, Tarpon has played a vital role,” Pippus said.
Tarpon not only supplied the materials but also the labour costs for upgrades, Pippus said. The company also handled the wiring for the breakfast club's dishwasher.
The total value of Tarpon's contributions has been pegged at $11,733.75.
The breakfast club serves a nutritious breakfast to an average of 70 students each day. Volunteers from the community serve food and interact with the students.
