The playoffs have started in the Big 6 Hockey League.
The Carnduff Red Devils and the Wawota Flyers have leads in their respective series. The Red Devils have a 2-0 series lead in their best-of-five match-up against the Oxbow Huskies. Carnduff won Game 1 5-2 on February 7, and Game 2 9-3 on February 11.
Carnduff can wrap up the series on February 13 in Oxbow. Dates for Games 4 and 5, if they're necessary, haven't been established.
The Wawota Flyers took a 2-1 series lead in their match-up with the Arcola-Kisbey Combines by winning Game 3 3-2 in Arcola on February 11. Wawota can wrap up the series with a victory in Game 4 on February 14 in Wawota. Game 5, if necessary, would be played February 18 in Wawota.
Wawota won Game 1 3-2 on February 6, while Arcola-Kisbey took Game 2 4-3 on February 9.
In the other first round series, the Midale Mustangs and the Redvers Rockets are tied at 1-1. Midale won Game 1 7-5 on February 7, but Redvers responded with a resounding 10-0 win on the 9th.
Game 3 is slated for February 14. Dates for the other games hadn't been announced.
The Bienfait Coalers have a first round bye, since they had the top record in the regular season.
All first round series are best-of-five match-ups.
Teams are also vying for provincial titles.
The Coalers have advanced to the next round in Senior A, after sweeping the Milestone Flyers in a best-of-three series.
The Coalers will face either Oxbow or Langenberg in the next round. That series is tied at 1-1. Game 3 is slated for February 15 in Oxbow.
In Senior B, the Red Devils trail Balcarres 9-3 in a two-game, total-goal series. Game 2 will be February 14 in Carnduff.
Wawota trails Bradenbury 5-3 in a two-game, total-goal Senior C series. Game 2 will be on the 15th in Bradenbury.
Redvers is playing Ochapowace in Senior C. Game 1 was slated to be played February 12 in Ochapowace. (Results were not available at press time). Game 2 is slated for February 15 in Redvers.
