The Estevan Motor Speedway has released a tentative schedule for the 2014 season that includes 14 events.
The season will kick off with a regular program on May 3. The first two programs of the year – on May 3 and 17 – are provisionally slated to start at 3 p.m. The speedway's season opener in 2013 was also a 3 p.m. start, and it was lauded because it didn't happen in the evening, when temperatures were much cooler.
Two double-headers are also on the docket. The first will happen on June 13 and 14. Specific details have yet to be released.
The other will be September 20 and 21. There will be a non-points program on the 20th, and the annual season-ending Enduro race will be on the 21st.
The biggest race program of the year – the annual Dakota Classic Modified Tour – will be in Estevan on Monday, July 7. Drivers from Saskatchewan and several U.S. states will converge on Estevan for Estevan's stop on the tour.
Track champions will be crowned during the season championship night on August 22.
And the annual Eve of Destruction – which has become one of the biggest sporting events of the year in Estevan – is slated for September 12.
There will be several other programs during the year, too. Most of the speedway's events will be on Saturday nights at 7 p.m.
Further details on the different events will be announced at a later date.
