The Estevan Century 21 Bantam A Bruins had a trio of draws in league play recently: 2-2 against the Regina Sabres on January 17, 5-5 against Indian Head on the 18th, and 2-2 against Weyburn on the 19th.
Brett MacMurchy scored twice for Estevan in the second period to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead against the Sabres. Both goals were assisted by JD Gervais. But Regina tied the game with two tallies of their own in the third.
Preston Audet scored twice against Indian Head. Zack Holzer, Keaten Tarnes and Logan King had the other goals. Estevan scored three times in the second period against Indian Head to lead 4-3 after two periods, and upped the lead to 5-3 in the third, but Indian Head rallied with two goals to force the draw.
In the game against Weyburn, Reegan Robinson and Holzer scored for Estevan.
Zack Miller was the goalie for all three games.
The Bantam A Bruins' record is 5-7-6. They'll host the Regina Blues on January 25 at 5 p.m.
The Estevan Blue Rock Junior Midget Bruins defeated the Regina Royals 5-2 on January 19 in Regina.
Justin Weinrauch scored twice for Estevan in less than five minutes in the second period to break open a 1-1 tie. Colein Poole had scored in the first period to give Estevan a 1-0 lead, but Regina tied the game.
Weinrauch's goals lifted Estevan to a 3-1 advantage, but Regina would score once before the period was over to pull within a goal.
JJ Holma and Dagan Olson tallied for Estevan in the third period.
Cole Barnstable was in goal for the victory.
Estevan's record is 9-7-1. They'll visit the Regina Mustangs on January 25, and host the Melville Millionaires on January 26 at 11:30 a.m. at Affinity Place.
