Panthers fall to Storm

The Estevan Power Tech Midget AA Panthers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Prairie Storm on January 10 in White City in the Panthers' first game following the Christmas break.

Jenna Grube had the Panthers' lone goal – a tally that came late in the first period. The Storm scored twice in the first period prior to Grube's goal, and then the Storm added the final goal of the game early in the second period.
Litesha Spittal made 33 saves for Estevan.

The Panthers have an 11-5-1 record. They'll be busy in the coming days, as they'll visit the Notre Dame Hounds on January 17, and then host the Weyburn Drillers on January 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Affinity Place, and the Hounds on January 19 at 4:45 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium.

The Estevan Power Dodge Bantam A Chargers continued their unbeaten season with a pair of lopsided victories over the Wood River Ice Cats in Kincaid.

Estevan won the first game 7-2 on January 11. They jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the five-minute mark of the second period, and cruised to victory. Megan LeBlanc had four goals and an assist, while Makenna Morrison had a goal and two assists. Araya Wheeler and Ashton Magotiaux also scored.

LeBlanc had another big game with four goals and two assists in a 9-2 win the following day. Teanna Sieben added two goals and an assist, while Morrison, Payten Wilson and Tatiana Dutka had the other goals.

Ashlyn Taillon was in goal for both victories.

The Chargers lead their league with a 13-0-1 record. Their next two games are at home against the Regina Shamrocks: January 18 at 5 p.m. at Affinity Place, and January 19 at 2:15 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium.

The Estevan Atom Senchuk Mustangs dropped a pair of league games, as they lost 6-3 to the Regina Ice on January 11 at Affinity Place, and 5-2 on the road to the Regina Chill on January 12.

Kayla Wanner scored twice for Estevan against the Ice. Kamri Olfert had Estevan's other goal.

Wanner and Bailey Farr scored for Estevan against the Chill.

Taylor Dickie was in goal for both games.
The Mustangs are fourth in their league with an 8-8 record. Their next game is January 19 on the road against Weyburn.
